Sid was a beacon of light in the early years of UWC Changshu. We remember him as a gentle person who lived life to the fullest extent. Sid was loved by all manner of people and rightly so. He related exceptionally well to his community members and to the world at large. His passing away has left a great void!

Sid Sundaram was an outstanding young man whom I had the enormous pleasure of working with on a daily basis during our time together in Zambia. After his initial shock at witnessing the appalling conditions in which these students were studying in and also living in, he decided to make a real difference in the short time we were there. He was inventive and creative. He threw himself 100% into interacting with the students. I was truly humbled to see the way he interacted with the students and teachers.
Sid also ran the MUN group at UWC Changshu after I set it up. He was an extremely skilled orator. I was stunned to discover that he had overcome a stammer. He was a skilled and natural orator. The thing that stood out for me was that Sid was his own man, not easily swayed or influenced by others. He initiated and led by example. A great example.
The world is definitely a sadder place without him. Sid touched the lives of so many. He definitely touched mine and many students in Zambia's lives.
You are missed Sid.

I had the opportunity to teach Siddharth in Georgetown University in the Fall of 2019 when he enrolled in my "Politics of Modern Middle Eastern Art" class. Sid was an exemplary student and upstanding human being with many ambitions. We stayed in touch over the past four and a half years, meeting in Washington DC, Boston and lastly in New York City, sharing meals, walks and ice-cream along the way. Sid would update me about his startup and his latest reading list. My favorite memory will be the hours we spent at Lauinger Library revising the class notes as Sid was one of two Georgetown undergraduates I accepted into my graduate level class. I feel lucky to have met such a wonderful and kind human being. I am grateful to my student Salma, a friend of his from high school who suggested to Sid to take my class at Georgetown.

My favourite memory of Sid was having him as a student in my Econ class. Sid was incredibly smart. He grasped complex concepts quickly and was always willing to support others in the class.
Sid had a great sense of humor, and I loved the bond over Hong Kong we shared. He represented Hong Kong so well. Multicultural at heart, Sid was passionate about understanding different cultures, people’s lives, and their stories. He was creative and fun. He was unapologetically authentic.
Sid will be dearly missed. It’s so hard for me to come to terms with the loss of such a promising young man. Yet the impact and the joy he brought into our lives will forever resonate.
